100% Handmade Fins

Peter Maisch started Wedge surfboards and Maisch Fins in the late 1960’s in a small town called Warner Beach, South Africa. Peter has shaped thousands of boards and fins and has developed one of the top fin factories in the world! Peter showed both his sons Gary and Justin the art of shaping at a young age. Gary Maisch is now the full time shaper for wedge surfboards and shaped his first board at the age of 12, he has now shaped over 5000 boards for a variety of shapers inc Spider Murphy. Gary and Justin have achieved excellent results both nationally and internationally.

Peter now specializes in the production of 100% handmade fibreglass fins.

I started surfing when i was 12! late i know!
Unfortunately i lived in Johannesburg, but made my way down to, sunwitch port about 5 times a year sometimes for more than a month at a time, my first board was a DOE old and second hand i soon got myself a WEDGE, as i had seen Gary and Justin surfing often at sunwitch and surrounding beaches, the midgets style and speed was the best i had ever seen and my grommet-ness i believed it had to be the board!
6`4″, 18 1/2, 2 1/4 square tail, my baby still to this day.
Even worste i now live in england! i havent seen her for years but she is safe at my moms house in mongomery rd in Sunwitch port, the days at Damba and the 8 to 10 foot and perfect days at sunwitch will never be forgotten.
I hope to return soon, my boys need to surf before they are 10!!!
    i can see a order for 2x (5`8″, 13 1/2, 2) someday soon!
hope the weather is better and the surf is up, peace all!
